About Us

Build a 7-figure business while raising a family

Female Mavericks

We’re two girls from the Midwest. We have nine kids between us. Still see our mothers every day. Took our turns at carpools, as room moms and obnoxious sideline cheerers at kids’ sports games. But here’s the plot twist: we’re also entrepreneurs. We chased not just one big dream, but two—and they both paid off–enough to retire.

Moms first, entrepreneurs second

Our Story

Women like us—moms first, entrepreneurs second (or vice versa, depending on the day)—aren’t the unicorns mainstream media makes us out to be. In fact, we’re becoming more mainstream every day, despite the absurd funding disparities in the venture world. Women start half of the world’s businesses, and even more of us aspire to become startup goddesses. When we take the leap, we often outshine our male counterparts, reaching higher average revenue growth and better returns on investment.

Some women, like Beth, have known they wanted to be entrepreneurs their whole lives. They seized opportunities and were ready to pivot—again and again—until success found them. Some people, like Victoria, have a casual interest in entrepreneurship but always prioritize financial freedom, a fulfilling job and motherhood.

Both types, for a while at least, excel in their 9-to-5s, and their careers seem to be on the right track. But then a meteor strikes. It might be a brilliant idea, a frustration with the painfully slow salary growth, or the harsh realization that while Corporate America talks a good game about supporting career-oriented moms, it has been paying them 20% less than their male counterparts for years. Suddenly, those entrepreneurial dreams surface or resurface, and they dust off their notebooks to take another shot at a business plan.
